OXYGEN ABSORBENT, CHEMICAL, SEEZ, 02
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a liquid solution absorbent for use with a flue gas analyzer.
Salient characteristics.
Shall be a 6 fluid ounce solution of oxygen absorbent for use with the Hays Republic Corporation Model A00621 Orsat portable flue gas analyzer.
Shall have potassium hydroxide as the major ingredient in the formulation.
Shall have an oxygen absorbance capacity of approximately 23 times the liquid volume (ie. A 4100 cubic centimeter oxygen absorbing capacity per 6 fl. oz. bottle).
Shall be contained in a round glass screwcapped nitrogen purged bottle, and shall not be affected by light.
Workmanship. The oxygen absorbent solution shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One oxygen absorbent, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
